Moran Construction Consultants, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, engaged Cockfield Jackson Architects in 2021 to renovate an outdated 1970’s vintage office building. The redesign involved the replacement of all exterior wall finishes, windows and roofing, along with a complete new interior reconfiguration and renovation. The deep roof overhang was cut back and shortened, thereby raising the fascia height of the roof, and creating a visually taller building. New large window openings were incorporated into the design at the exterior walls and interior office walls to allow maximum natural light to penetrate into the building. Three porch additions were added, creating a new main entry and two staff entry locations. The design incorporated staff amenities including a gym/workout space, outdoor patio off of the break room, and a fenced-in dog yard. The project included design and procurement of all new furnishings and landscaping.
