Who We Are

Cockfield Jackson Architects is an award-winning architecture firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have a diverse portfolio that ranges from a wide variety of commercial project types, to traditional and contemporary high-end homes. We practice a "balanced design" philosophy. We listen closely to our clients' needs to create responsive design solutions that are sensitive to your functional requirements, aesthetic preferences, and project budget. We consider our clients as interactive members of the overall project design team. We work collaboratively with each client to help you realize your vision, no matter how large or small the project may be.

Principal Architect
​Tommie is the President and co-founder of Cockfield Jackson Architects. He has over 40 years of experience working in a diverse range of both commercial and residential project types. Tommie’s specialty has been designing high-end, custom homes which has afforded him the opportunity to work on projects across the southern portion of the United States. His design work has been recognized for design excellence by the receipt of numerous design awards and being published in many periodicals and magazines. Tommie volunteers his time outside the office serving in various leadership roles for local community organizations. In his spare time Tommie enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and traveling.

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
​Steve is the co-founder of Cockfield Jackson Architects. He has over 45 years of experience in the industry. Steve focuses largely on commercial projects and is a LEED accredited professional in building design and construction of green buildings. He also has a passion for library design and has completed 13 different library projects during his career. One of Steve's favorite projects was the renovation of the Tiger Stadium Locker Room for the LSU Tigers football team. He had the opportunity to work directly with the athletic department and coaches to create a dazzling and inspirational new environment for the team. Steve is happily married to Chris Marks Jackson and has two adult sons. He has played the trumpet for over 50 years, was a member of the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland, and performs regularly with a community jazz band. He is an avid tennis player and loves to fish in his spare time.

Kevin Babb
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Kevin joined Cockfield Jackson as the Senior Project Manager in 2003. He is most proud of his work on renovations to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, Louisiana and Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen, Louisiana. He is a native of Monroe, LA and graduated from Neville High School. Kevin spends leisure time creating art, hosting a local radio program, and volunteering with Boy Scout Troop 14. He also serves a chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Broadmoor United Methodist Church where he and his family have attended since 1995. ​

​Robin Rayburn
Administration
​Robin has been with Cockfield Jackson Architects since 2006. She serves as office manager, human resources, book keeper, and geenral administrator. Robin became a member of the Baton Rouge Chapter of The Society of Design Administrators (SDA) in 2008. She continues her education by networking with (SDA) members, who promote good practice management and the professional standards of design firm administrative personnel. Robin enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren, rehabbing homes, saltwater fishing, and maintaining her mini farm at her home.

​Hayden Lake
intern architect
​Hayden joined Cockfield Jackson Architects in 2021 as a student intern and became a full time intern after graduating in 2022. Hayden is currently working towards becoming a licensed architect through her work at the firm. She enjoys designing everything down to the details on high end residential projects. Outside of work, Hayden enjoys baking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
