McKernan Law Firm
The client hired Cockfield Jackson Architects to design a traditional 9,050 sq. ft. law office on a prominent site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Norman French style exterior features stucco and reclaimed brick, terracotta ridge caps, decorative roof spires, copper roof vents, true divided light windows and operable shutters. The interior spaces included a reception/waiting area, lawyer offices, conference room, paralegal work areas, library, conference room, break room and support spaces. The structure is located on the Baton Rouge earthquake fault line, and as a result, the foundation was designed with numerous grade beam stiffening ribs to resist movement.
