Louisiana State University Sorority House
The overall project scope was an extensive renovation of the LSU Press Office Building, which involved the conversion of the existing building into a new sorority house. The project included asbestos abatement, selective demolition, re-roofing, complete reconfiguration and renovation of the existing first and second floors, new commercial kitchen, as well as a new addition for a chapter room on the rear of the building. The project also included a community courtyard, a service ramp for the kitchen and all associated site work. The desired outcome was a functional, updated facility that would meet the needs of the student residents occupying the building, and that would maintain the architectural vocabulary and integrity of the original structure.
