Steel Goes Up at Independence Park Main Library

Baton Rouge, LA, USA – June 19, 2012 – Cockfield Jackson Architects staff took a site visit today to see the continuing progress of the new Independence Park Main Library . The steel components for the new three story structure, which began erection in May, is nearly halfway completed. This is a big step in the construction process because it is the first visible component of the building. Until now, all of the work has been underground, so for the last 6 months it would appear nothing has been done. In reality, site utilities are in place, approximately 700 wood piles have been driven into the ground, the stell structure is almost finished, and the concrete floors are scheduled to be poured and day now.
