The YMCA organization retained CJA to develop a site and building feasibility study for renovating and expanding the existing Southside Branch located on Perkins Road. The process included evaluation of the planned Perkins Road expansion, as well as design options with and without the acquisition of adjacent property. In addition, CJA worked closely with the YMCA director to address space needed for the programs and functions that were currently being offered by the facility, as well as for future growth. The study concluded with a design utilizing the existing 15,800 sf building shell and construction of a 5,400 sf addition for a new indoor exercise pool. The renovations have not yet been implemented.

Pelican Point

The proposed extensive renovations for this existing golf clubhouse included an addition for a new golf pro shop, renovated dining and kitchen areas, a renovated 19th Hole lounge and card room, renovated locker areas, new exercise room, new elevator, new interior finishes, new exterior dining portico overlooking the golf course, and a new porte cochere. The renovations have not yet been implemented.

LSU Recreation Center

This extensive renovation and addition to an existing recreation facility on the campus of Louisiana State University was designed to be implemented over several construction phases while the facility remained open and useable by the students and staff. The alterations provided more modern student services and fitness training with new classrooms, new offices, renovated cardio theater and exercise / weight rooms, updated exercise studios, a climbing wall, and a bicycle spin room.
