Cockfield Jackson sponsors ITT-Tech CANstruction team, wins structural ingenuity

Baton Rouge, LA, USA – September 16, 2012 Akheil Shah and his team of students from ITT-Tech won the award for structural ingenuity at the Baton Rouge CANstruction event held downtown at the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum. CANstruction is an annual charity event that takes place across the nation. Local design professionals, Baton Rouge architects, and Students formed teams to design and build sculptures out of canned goods in a friendly competition to raise awareness for hunger. The sculptures were on display at the LASM from September 15, 2012 until September 20, 2012 at which point they were disassembled and food items donated to The Greater Baton Food Bank. AIA Baton Rouge, along with LASM and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, in spite of Hurricane Issac, were able to come together to host the event for a second time. Inspired by Dr. Seuss this years theme is Green Eggs and Can. The design teams, their entries and awards follow;
